The first time I walked into a yoga studio was 1996 desperately seeking a solution to post-partum depression. Yoga became indispensable and I was in for life! The longer I walked this path the evidence of yoga's impact on my life and the lives of people I practiced with was undeniable.
When I started to envision my life in retirement from working in real estate financing for 25 years, I made a decision at 56 to become a yoga teacher and create a new life. I am now living out dream of a new life bringing yoga to as many people as I can who share my curiosity for what is possible!
I live in Glens Falls, NY at the foot of the Adirondack Mountains with my husband, our poodle (Ellie), and our cranky cat (Murphy). We have two grown children and enjoy living in our empty nest while watching their lives blossom!

Lynae

The addition of Lynae to our staff brings 2 decades of experience and a wealth of knowledge to the studio! We are so excited to offer her classes and know that our students will benefit from her compassionate guidance.
Lynae's depth of spirit will provide you with a solid foundation from which to explore and expand your yoga practice.
Sierra Archer

Sierra was first drawn to yoga and spirituality during a time of recovery and deep healing. She fell in love with yoga's power to shape both the mental and physical aspects of our wellbeing. Sierra has 6 certifications and over 1000 hours of training in yoga, meditation, and tantra. She is currently working toward her yoga therapy degree which will provide new depth to her ability to serve her students. Her classes and workshops aim to provide a safe space for deep self-exploration and transformation. Sierra's other offerings include Thai Bodywork, reiki, sound healing and is always exploring new healing modalities to add to her practice.
Meredith Vanderminden

I am Meredith Vanderminden! I have two passions: movement and spirituality, I've been moving and discovering Spirit in many ways since I was a little girl. Movement was a way for me to process the world around me, discover myself more fully, and lean into the mysteries all around me. I am a lifelong learner, studying many ways to move and many ways to help people grow to know how they live, move and be in this world. I am a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, certified Qigong instructor, certified Expressive Arts Coach, certified Spiritual Director, an Ayurvedic Health Coach and dancer. But most importantly, I love people, just the way they are and without judgement. It brings me great joy to see other bloom and grow! I'd like to bring that joy to you too!
Maria Brown of Serenity Wellness and Coaching at Ajara!

Maria Brown, M.S, PWS, GISP and a certified SOMA Neurosomatic Breath Therapy Practitioner and Transformational Creative Wellness Coach is now a part of our teaching staff!. She is bringing her incredible depth of knowledge and experience to Ajara Yoga! Teaching classes and providing guidance in her many modalities including Somatic Breath Work and her Creative Wellness Workshops and Classes. THE YOGA

When I founded Ajara Yoga it was with the conviction to serve the people who might feel a bit lost in the pace and physicality of modern yoga. I want to bring those folks to their mats and give them a safe and productive place to honor their body, mind, and spirit at every age and stage of life.
Although, thanks to modern yoga's reach and impact on society, more people are aware of the benefits of yoga. I hope to bring yoga to these curious people by giving them a place to enjoy and explore at their own pace and feel at home. See below for TryYoga beginner or refresher options,
The word "Ajara" means Ageless in Sanskrit, the language of ancient yoga. Our staff provide well-constructed and purposeful classes allowing all ages and abilities to thrive and go deeper in their practice.
Jami's classes are about 75 minutes and include an explanation of that day's practice creating purpose, suggestions for the application in your day-to-day life, a physical yoga sequence consisting of a series of relevant poses, breath awareness techniques, and finally, a short and beneficial meditation sealing in the full experience. Our other offerings with our talented staff of teachers range in length and vary in content but all classes are accessible to all ages and levels of experience.

Fundamentals of Yoga Class
Ajara Yoga offers a unique opportunity to experience yoga in a comfortable and supportive environment. This 4-class weekly course is designed for those looking to explore yoga with other curious people. Led by Jami, these classes cover basic postures, terminology, the flow of typical classes, the use of props, and touches of yogic philosophy. Your experience will be a personalized practice to accommodate any physical limitations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Join Jami to begin your yoga practice or for a refresher to embrace the transformative power of yoga.
